Creating a surprise wasn't easy at all, especially for my dear, maybe he know me well enough, so before I surprise him, he will surprised me by spoiling my surprised. I don't know if he was used to be pampered in such way with whatever "eXs", "Y", "Z" he had in the past till he had kind of taken it for granted, so he usually response "expressionless" toward surprises.
I don't care what ever nonsense he had in the past, it all history now, what matter now is the present, our future.
If you guys follow my blog, you all should know that I bought him a blink blink Mont Blanc pen for him 2months back, no reason, no occasion, just a gift to him for sharing my joy of big fat bonus.
Ever since after the pen, I told him please don't expect any present on his birthday, I had spend over my budget. He agree to it, just a simple dinner celebration will be fine, this is our initial agreement. But, other than work, I don’t like to go by the book, I like to go against the rules of the game, go against the agreement made & I love to surprise people around me that I love.
Okay, now I can officially say thank you to my crazy Haagen Dazs peeps now on my blog since the surprise is over. They walk around with me to so many places, giving me ideas & suggestion on our mooncake shopping day, so, I got this present for dear's birthday. Yah, that what I always do, way before the date I already start planning & sourcing for presents.

That not the end after buying the present, there comer the worst plart, planning, I hate most. I must start recalling dear's like & dislike, his availability on that day, look for dinner place, atmosphere, price, quality, location, cuisine & many many more, all mention above is part of my consideration.
I know it sound a little ridiculous to some of you outta, machiam preparing for my wedding day. But, that me, I will do my best to make thing prefect in a way :)
I start dropping enquiry emails & called to many different restaurant & hotel to check on items they offered, are they able to accept my special request, blah~ blah~ (lot more). Only till a week before the birthday, I settle with "Melt - The World Café" located at Oriental Hotel.
Since location settle, time for me to work on my "letter of invitation". It look a little silly & childish in a certain way, but I feel that, dinner, we will eat everyday, so nothing special about it, so I would like to add some "spice" to our boring life.
♥"Birthday Voucher"♥
I spend quite a lot of time to design my "birthday voucher", I amend & edit time after time, I wouldn't say it look prefect now, but it slightly closer to my perfect as compare to the previous attempts.
Initial planning was to send out the "birthday voucher" by mail, but I'm kind of afraid that the "birthday voucher" will reach dear's hand either before or after his birthday, I want it to reach to his hand exactly on his birthday. I know it hard to be done, so I decide to deliver the letter to him personally.
Since I don't need to post the "birthday voucher", I might as well design & make the envelop myself. I feel that hand-made stuff feel more sincere.

I fail to get "Happy Birthday" rock candy for Sharon on her birthday, I feel a little disappointed. So this time, I made my trip down 1 week earlier to get my order placed, I design the candy jar myself too (Yah!! Go ahead & comment, I know it look childish, but so long I like will do)

No birthday cake this year, cos we always ended up wasting the cake, so, I reduce the size of the birthday cake to 2 tiny mini cuppies (No wasting of food this year).

♥Rock Candy♥
Took a half day leave on Monday, & a full day leave on Tuesday. So, Monday after work, I will rush down to Central to pick up the rock candy & cuppies. After I got my stuffs, time for me to head home to pack my stuff nicely. My plan was to give dear the candy, cuppies & "birthday voucher" on Monday, let him feel that I really not buy him any presents, present will on be giving to him over the dinner. I really have no plan on how to surprise him on Monday, I seriously hope that he got plan on that evening itself, so pretend that I'm not meeting him, then I will head over to his house during late evening, till the time he reach home I will be expecting him at home with surprise.
Around 1 week before the birthday, mum accompany to search for a pretty box for the cuppies & candy, finally I decide on this, but mum feel like it a like girl-ish for dear. I think it look sweet isn't it, maybe because I love PINK, hahahaha, but hopefully the box can fit in the cuppie height.

I spend lot of time at home cutting all this strips of paper from the gift wrapper, cut till blister formed on my fingers. I finally give up the ideas of cutting, just a little more to go, so I got those ready one from Daiso.
A day before dear's birthday, I took a half day leave. Once the clock strike 12.30, packed my bag & left office, head straight to Central to collect the candy & cuppies. Hurry home after collecting my stuff, & it time for me to packed & décor the stuff.

I feel bad lying to dear & not answering his call for the day, told him I'm busy for the day, at meeting most of the time. Till 6pm, I never received any call from him, I don't know what his plan for the night so I can't plan my stuff.
Lucky I got a spy by dear side, my 好姐妹 Jimmy. He told me what the plan they having at the night & he promise to update me once dear head home.
I drop an SMS to dear's mum that evening around 7pm, there how the SMS goes, "Aunty, This is Lynn here, Mark is out with his friend, is it convenient for me to drop by later & wait for Mark to come home. I want to pass him his present & cake tonight."
I waited & waited, but no reply from dear's mum, I even try calling, but no one answer the call. Since no reply, it rather rude for me to turn up without inviting, I plan to wait for dear at the garden for him to come home instead.
I estimate the time dear usually reach home, so I start waiting for him since 10.30pm, estimated the longest waiting time will be around 3hours. I'm well-prepared myself for this long wait, I bought drink, candy, DS to keep me occupied while waiting.
It within my guess, dear reach home around 1am (I waited 2 & 1/2 hours in total, feeding the mosquitoes in the garden). BOO!! I appeared in front of the car while he is doing the parking. From the look & the smile on his face I can tell that he was surprise by my appearance.
Poor dear, he wasn't feeling good since the dinner session on Saturday, once we step into the house, before I can hand him the presents he need to run to toilet first.
I shouldn't elelabrate on his expression & stuff when he received the gift from me, he is forever expressionless, & sadly, his tummy wasn’t feeling good, so he can't eat his cup cake. So after he check out his present, he doze off straight, poor dear still need to work on his birthday.

I receive dear's mum SMS only the next day, this is how the SMS goes, "Lynn sorry i didnt read yr sms yesterday hope u didnt wait too long. Next time just come in anyway is your home too". Isn't dear mum very sweet?!? I feel so touch by her words.
While dear head off to work, I try to get a little more beauty sleep but I'm seriously annoyed by the 4 cats. All the 4 cats came into the room play around & slept with me, taking turns to "parade" on my body, brushing their tails on my face, no peace at sleep.
I woke up, do a little tidy up for dear's room, sweep the house as it really full of cat fur. Till late afternoon, dear finally home & bought me my long-craved 牛腩面 for lunch.
That not the end of his work, dear continue doing his work at home till late evening, he really shouldn't have take half day leave.
My plan for dear's birthday was spoiled due to his stomache. Dear don't want me to spend so much on dinner that turn out he cannot really enjoy the food & wasted the money, so we give the dinner a missed, I suggest to go to RWS for a walk instead (my motive is to go there for Garrett's popcorn).
Dear park his car at Vivocity & we took the monorail in instead, actually taking monorail there was rather convenient & it save us a lot more compare to diving in.

Dear feel so cheated, I bluff him to go all the way there to buy popcorn in such hot weather, on his birthday somemore & worst still there isn't much thing we can see there.
