My Super Long Weekend

I was MC for 2 day, Thursday & Friday, this mean I gonna have a super long weekend.

I still drag myself to work on Thursday, need to settle my engineer on-site schedule before I go & see a doctor. Went to K.W. Chan at Siglap, who knows they say they not see patience with flu system, ridiculous right?!?

So I head over to Raffles clinic at Siglap Centre, just hope that it not a nonsense doctor like the one in Bedok branch. Waited quite long for my turn, lots of people is sick due to the bad weather & haze stuff.

I got a bad throat infection, my throat wall was badly swollen & I caught a slight flu. Doctor advice me if for the next I’m facing breathing problem or after the full course of medication I still not recover yet, he ask me to head straight to hospital, I might carry H1N1. As nowadays if you catch a common flu, there is high chance is H1N1.

It was quite a torture for me as I cannot eat at all, I even have problem swallowing my own saliva. Guess what I take for all my 3 meals that day. Breakfast I had milk, lunch I had milk too, till dinner time I’m really dead hungry, so I cook a packet of mee hoon to eat.

I hate to be home alone when I’m sick, only my baby is there to accompany me, he just sleep on my bed with me. Thanks dear to make a trip down just to see me after his family dinner.

Friday I spent close to the whole day at home, cannot really rest, need to work from home. How I wish when I first join this company I was issue a desktop & not a lap top, then I won’t need to bring my work home to do.

Till evening time dear came & pick me up for dinner, had something easy to swallow, so dear bought me to City Plaza for Mee Hoon Kueh. As usual after our meal we will look for Ben for a puff, my first stick of cigarette of the day, felt so dizzy after smoking.

Head over to dear’s house first as he need to send out some e-mail. His whole family know that I’m sick, his mum & sis was like asking if I’m feeling better & so.

Wanna go out for a walk, but dear was saying the weather was rather hazy, not good for a walk. So we just drive around & landed at Night Safari. Was thinking that the time was still early maybe we can go & see the animal. Seriously it wasn’t a very god idea for that day as I was wearing a high-heel.

When we went inside & dear wanna to get the ticket, I suggest dear to look at the queue first before we go in, if not like our last visit we saw the queue was so long & we decide to give a miss. Rather spent 4buck wasted on the parking then spent 50bucks & we cannot make our money worth.

As I expected the queue was super long. So we actually spent 4bucks on our parking to eat Ben & Jerry ice cream there. I love ice cream, but compare to Haggen Dazs, their ice cream is far too sweet. I like the flavour “Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz”, it simply reminds me of my favour Haggen Dazs flavour “Mocha Chip”, but this is a discontinued flavour now.

Head home after we left Night Safari while dear meet up with Ben for a drink.

Saturday I woke up rather early, get myself ready to fetch Ah Zhi from the airport. While me & mum was waiting for the bus, received a call for Kor saying the Ah Zhi flight arrive early. Kor came over to pick me & mum up, & head back to Ah Ma house to pick big uncle & Ah Ma.

By the time we reach airport, his flight has already landed. So we don’t need to wait long & Ah Zhi made his way out. Finally back after 1& ½ years of training at U.S, our first fighter plane pilot in the family.

While the rest head back home me & mum had our bunch at airport TCC. Without fail my order is the same, Cheese Mozell Beef Tofu & my favour Ice hazelnut latte. Mum wanted to try their pan-cake.

For purchase over S$30 you get a scratch & win card, guess what I won? I win a S$30 voucher for the next purchase. Gonna bring dear there one day to try their pastry; I just simply love it so much.

Finally I found a Mrs Field outlet at Airport, so long since I last eat their cookies & brownie. Brought some cookies & brownie nipples for dear, he had not tried that before. Bought all dear favour chocolate flavour.

Dear came over to pick us up from airport, send mum home first & we head back to dear’s house. Dear spent his whole day playing his PS2, while I spent my time downloading new games for his I-Phone.

Seriously, there a very least chance for you to get sick of the I-Phone, there plenty games for you to download from the App-Store. Once again dear prompt me the question am I really seriously want a Satio compare to I-Phone? Well, I still prefer a phone with a good camera. I don’t want to carry a digi-camera out with me all the time, is for the convenience. As for game, I’m easily get sick of it.

Guess what dear’s dad bought for our dinner? Teochew porridge. OMG!! My greatest hate is porridge, once it turns cold & that it, I will throw out if I continue eating. So I make my dinner a fast one, I got my tongue burn a couple of time & finally I force all the porridge into my stomach.

Around 9plus at night, we left dear’s house & head over to my house. Park the car at the car park & wait for Ben to come over to fetch us. We decide not to drink for the day as we prepare to get ourselves drank.

Ben’s car was powerful, no deny for that. On our way to Le Bar, there a sharp corner which Ben did not reduce his speed make us nearly fly out for our seat, & dear broke something from Ben’s car.

For this time we did not open Martel or order beer, we order something new, Courvoisier & Macallen, 2 bottles for $300 bucks. Courvoisier was really nice, smoother then Martel. I don’t really like the taste of Macallen.

Lots of people turn up that day, the 3 table which we reserve is not enough for all of us & of course the 2 bottle is also not enough. So Kieve open 2 more bottle & 1 or 2 more jug of beer, I can’t recall too.

Seriously we are super high, but still not to the extent of drank I guess, but me & dear went to throw out once each. See the way other get drank was really funny, unusual behaviour they seem super high.

It no joke to sit in an Evo 9 when you are in a half drank state, it make me feel like throwing out, especially the sharp bend at Bedok ITE there before reaching my house. Ben go at his full speed scare the hell out of me, & dear got a blue black on his arm.

It was really nice to sleep when you are drunk, sweet dreams throughout the night, but the waking up part is the killer, headache.

Well, dear went for his usual “Sunday Sport Day” with the rest, I decide to give it a miss, if not I guess I gonna have a worst headache under the hot sun. Anyway need to prepare for a family gathering later at grandma place, bring Dino along. So Dino can play with Jasper again.

Wondering if sis gonna bring Max along? Guess lazy Max will just simply ignore Dino & Jasper.

ICE -> In Case of Emergency

Saw this cut out from Strait Time & believe it will be rather useful when come to emergency, so I would like to post here & share:

A PATIENT can be transported to the hospital in minutes, but it can take hours to trace the next-of-kin to get consent for procedures, say paramedics.

It's a problem that could be solved by keeping contact numbers on mobile phones under the acronym ICE (In Case of Emergency), said the Singapore Civil Defence Force, which launched a programme yesterday to get people to do just that.

Mobile phone users should save their next-of-kin's number in their phonebooks under headings such as 'ICE-Husband', for example, so paramedics or even bystanders will know who to call.

Speaking at the annual Fire Safety and Civil Emergency Preparedness Seminaryesterday, SCDF Commissioner Peter Lim Sin Pang highlighted the role that technology can play to help paramedics, firefighters and police officers.

He noted: 'By having a uniform approach to storing emergency contacts inside a mobile phone, emergency responders can rapidly identify and contact the victim's next-of-kin in the event of an emergency.'

Welcoming the programme, Dr Tan Seow Hwee, Medical Director of the A&E Department at Parkway Shenton, said ICE would come in handy when trying to trace contacts of patients who may be unable to talk because of injury, for example.

He said: 'There have been cases of children who may be traumatised and unable to speak.

'Checking their phones for ICE would be a good way of contacting their next-of-kin, especially when minors are involved, so that we can get medical permission to carry out medical procedures which may be vital to treatment.'

Well, I was so looking forward for friday. Firstly, I will be going back to the main office. Chance to meet up with my girls again & have lunch together with them. Secondly, I had a date with Missy M & Samuel for a walk at East Coast Park that night. Finally Samuel & Dino can make friend.

Everything was smooth till that evening got a little hip-up at work. Well is not something happy so I shall not share it here.

Meet Missy M at East Coast, had our late dinner, all of us were starving. We had dinner at Kenny Roger, my all time favourite. This time round turn to be a little disappointing, the cheese maronni taste horrible, it like maronni in cheese soup.

Missy M bought a bottle of bubble to play with Dino, & of course, Dino never fail to chase the bubbles.

Saturday I received a call from dear in the morning, surprise that he woke up so early as the day before he went drinking with his friends till rather late. He gonna head over to hospital in the morning to visit his friend, Rong Gui met an accident.

Till noon time, dear, Haojie & Derek was at interchange having their lunch & I head over to look for them. Heard from them that one of Rong gui cannot even open his eye now, there stitches on his head & a hole on his knee, that bad.

After lunch we head back to dear’s house, let him have a nap while I start playing with the games in his phone. Wake dear up at around 4.30pm, get himself wash up, Kieve was already waiting outside his house.

We are heading to Orchard, but Kieve say he wanna pack his car at the public carpark behind Wheelock, so he lead the way. Dear was so pissed, Kieve bought us go rounding, we went pass 2 ERP which actually not necessary to pass by any of it, that cost us 3bucks.

The public car park was so full so we ended up parking our cars in Wheelock, spend lot of time on the road & waiting itself.

First stop we head to Wheelock to get Kieve’s I-Phone speaker exchanged and we head to Icon, the new shopping now. Felt a little out of place, they are selling tons of brands items there. Can you imagine you even need to queue up into the LV shop, the shop itself have 2 storey inside.

The higher level is not for us, so we went to the basement, there a total of 4 storey of basement shop. The place is so big, yet still so packed with people.

Icon have a lots of food store there, mainly are Japanese food. I don’t know if the food is really nice or it just something new to everyone, everywhere is queue. We ended up queuing for our dinner for more than half hour just for a simple bowl of raman. But seriously the raman is good, but too expensive, just a bowl of raman cost $15.80.

Guess how much the parking cost? For around 2hours plus we pay $7.50 for parking. Dear say he is not going to bring me to Orchard anymore.

On our way to Parkway to meet with Kelvin we saw firwork, I simply love firework. Had a drink with them, while the rest head over for movie, me & dear went home to rest.

Today we sleep most of the time, just simply too tired for anything. Till late afternoon, went out for a drink with the rest, evening time we went to pick dear’s mum & bro to their relative’s house.

Had our dinner over at dear’s relative house, the aunty cook nonya prawn noodle, “wu xiang” & fried chicken wings, really very nice. Dear’s dad still joking ask when I’m going to learn how to cook the nonya prawn noodle too, they will help me try the food.

So fast, the weekend has come to an end, tomorrow is another working. Well, looking forward for the coming weekend, gonna be a long weekend & ah zhi is coming back from U.S. our first fighter plane pilot in the family, miss him so much.

Sick Sick again

I was down with flu again.

Flu bugs is everywhere in the air now.

MC for one day, gonna get back to work tomorrow.

Medication is working now,

feeling rather sleepy now.

Anyway Missy M is back from her Taiwan trip,

looking forward for our dogs outing on Friday.

Well, nowaday I start to let Dino sleep wit me in my bed.

He really knows how to make himself real comfortable.

A day under the hot sun

Well well, I got a rather bad Thursday & Friday. Bad thing I gonna let it past of course & move on.

Saturday I woke up with my Dino sleeping beside me, it really sweet to see him sleeping soundly by my side. Woke up laze at home till afternoon then I step out of the house & head off to Parkway Parade.

First station I went to Watson, need to buy some make-up stuff. After Watson, I went to Pet Lovers Centre wanted to get Dino a new leash. I bought some treats and a new leash, it so cute, is like a t-shirt.

I got the Pet Lover’s member card for free without any minimum purchase, just simply flash my HSBC credit card, guess they must have some special tie up promotion with the bank.

Head to Singtel, the place was rather packed with people. Manage to get the document of the money refund done; cheque will be post to be in one month time, bought a new Bluetooth headset for dear at the same time using the $30 offset.

Time was still early, I need a coffee. Starbuck was under renovation, Dome cafe & CoffeeBean was packed too. So I went to Mac Cafe instead, their coffee was not up to the minimum standard of mine, but still it always better than nothing.

Took bus 31 & drop of at the North Light Secondary & dear pick me up from there after his work. Dear had his shower & off we go for our dinner. Finally I get to eat my Shabu Shabu. Love the beef. We decide to go for the menu order instead of the buffet, it was rather cheap for us to eat that way as I don’t really eat that much.

I woke up today with a really bad headache, had 2 painkiller first before we head out to join the rest for their Sport Day.

Supposing meeting time is at 1.30pm, of course they did not turn up in time; they start their games around 2plus. Soccer & basketball for today, while playing half way Jaryl join in after his lesson.

Time flies, everything ends around the time of 5.30pm. Some accident happens to my Dino. While Jimmy bought him for a run, he bangs my Dino onto the lamp post. After Dino hit onto the lamp post, he refuse to move an inch, I believe it really hurt.

I run to Dino from far, dear thought I gonna give Jimmy a good scolding, although it really hurt seeing Dino in pain, but I don’t think is right for me to scold Jimmy.

Had mac delivery for our dinner again, it is like our usual Sunday routine. Up-size both meal for the seaweeds thingy. Dear hate seaweeds, so I actually add both packet of seasoning into my packet of fries, love it.

My Half day Leave

I was on half day leave yesterday. Yap! It a last minutes thingy which I inform my boss the night before.

 

Call Singtel to assist me on trouble-shooting the phone yet I received a sux-up attitude from them. Their advice for me is to bring the phone down to Comcentre again as they believe is hardware issue.

 

Rush my morning assignment to make sure my engineer schedule run smooth before I left. Dear was supposed to pick me up from work at 1pm, but he was held up at office & he ask me wait for him to pick me up.

 

Instead of waiting, I rather make my time worth, I head to dear’s office to look for him, so he don’t need to make a trip from office to Changi, & from Changi rush to Comcentre again.

 

While making my way to bus stop, I saw the bus came from the opposite road. I tried to run across the road as I don’t wish to spend ½ hours time waiting, but situation don’t allow me to. With a 1 inch tall heel & a IBM ThinkPad lappy hook to my arm, I cannot simply run. Luckily the bus driver was kind enough to wait for me.

 

The weather was so hot, I’m like melting, and luckily I’m a person that sort of won’t perspire. Bus change to train, after reach Lavender station make my way to dear’s office. When dear is done with his stuff, we head down to Comcentre.

 

Damn, the car park was full, no choice dear have to drop me off 1^st & he go find a place to park his car. He pass me his mobile wonder how dear going to look for me, luckily he still manage to find me.

 

After all my bad experience with Singtel helpdesk, I still quite contented with their corner service. After 15 to 20minutes of wait, we were told that we were given a one to one exchange, exactly what we wanted to ask for.

 

The new phone work perfectly fine! Look at the watch, WOW, is already 3plus now & we haven’t eaten our lunch, both of us are really hungry now. Deciding where for lunchies & we ended at Tiong Bahru Plaza for their Indonesian Grills, super yummy, miss their food there.

 

After our lunch, we went to PSB Academy to get dear’s diploma cert & do his enrollment for his degree. I refuse to get out of the car as the weather was real bad out there. How I wish I will have the money to study my degree too, I miss my studying life.

Still early to head home, so we went to Kallang Leisure Park for a movie. We watch “Obsessed”. Typical women “cat fight”, you can’t imagine how scary a woman can be when they wanted to protected their child, their man.

 

After the show me & dear was discussing about the movie, I was telling him that don’t try doing any thing funny, he won’t know what crazy woman he will encounter, might be worst then the woman in the show or anyone he met before, who knows.

 

We are still feeling rather full even it dinner time, so we decide to give our dinner a miss. Dear was afraid that I will be hungry & he knows that I’m crazy over good food, so he tried to tempt me with the food ask me to buy a bit home in case I will be hungry later.

 

In the end I cannot resist temptation, dear bought me my favorite “Mango Snow Ice”. I’m always never too full for dessert.
