Mothers' Day Dinner

It was really a very bad idea we came out to cook for Mothers’ Day, everything turns out to be a disaster.

The shopping trip was bad enough on Friday night, we went to a very small NTUC at Bedok South & we couldn’t get all of the ingredients we need. Woke up early on Sunday to catch my mother-in-law before she head out for groceries shopping, need her help to get the remaining ingredients.

My preparation starts in the morning all the way till the dinner being served. Hubby only concentrate on his “guo-tieh” skin & I have to do all other thing by myself. I was quite pissed at hubby’s gu-ma throughout the whole session. I have this bad habit, I hate other getting into my way when I’m doing my stuff & she just keep buzzing in the kitchen, interfering my thing. I’m trying very hard to hold my temper, luckily I manage to hold my cool for the day, I didn’t blow up.

When dinner almost ready to serve, I accidentally loss my grip on the plate, my whole plate of steam tofu went directly into the sink, from then on, everything was in a mess and I really don’t wish to talk about it anymore. The dishes I whip up was horrible that day, the sesame oil chicken was to tough & bland, didn’t cook long enough, the garlic on the prawns was a little too raw, the last minutes fried egg to replace the tofu was okay, the “guo-tieh” went horribly wrong, overall only the soup taste good.

I felt so depressed after the dinner, I cannot even handle such small chore given to me, I went hiding in the room straight after the dinner, just don’t feel like talking to anyone.

环岛走一回

Last Saturday was an ultimate fun day, ditched my hubby for a day & went out for a full day with my friends, really from morning all the way till to midnight. Thanks you Yiming for bringing us all around Singapore even though he was sick, it was tough for a sick person to drive whole day.

We planned to café hop the whole day, but we only have limited capacity for our stomach, so we went touring to most of the place instead. First stop was "Wheeler's Yard", it was located in a factory place, café in the warehouse, interesting. Love the classic concept but the menu fail to appealed to us, so we just went there to snap some pictures & make our move. 2nd Stop was "Kombi Rocks", VW's fans will love that place, especially their classic models.

We visited too many place & I really have problem descripting every single of them, just let me cover briefly on the places we went. All the places we went was quite impossible to cover without a ride, the 3rd location was "Rokeby" for coffee & some snacks, follow by "Bukit Timah Saddle Club" to see the horses, next was "PasarBella" to experience the market feel, had some ice cream at "Latte e Miele" to cool ourselves in the hot weather, found some abandon trail way track in "Clementi", getting unbalance seeing those big houses from the "Richman's" estate, head over to watch sunset at "Labrador Park", recapped our silly moments at "Mount Faber", checking out the new chill out place at "Puggol Saddle Club", and lastly, we end our day at "5 Drunkard Rabbit" in Pasir Ris.

Pheeeew! That a lot of places to cover in a day, but we manage to get it done! Kelton came over to join us for a beer after his appointment, it was really a nice day catching up with each other & having fun, too bad Mingwei still in Korea, not able to join us.

Plan for up-coming Mothers' Day

This coming Sunday is Mothers' Day again, so what have you guys plan for your mum? Well, for me, as usual, I guess my mum will be expected a delivery man come knocking at her door sending her a flower & gift.

Sadly this year I do not have time to spend with her, shall treat her to a Mothers' feast real soon after that. Something new this year, I have to celebrate Mothers' day 2 time, as got a new mother (mother-in-law) from this year onward.

What the plan for my mother-in-law? Both Hubby brother & sister going oversea this Sunday, so me & my hubby gonna whip up a meal for her this coming Sunday, pretty excited about it, we gonna have the kitchen to ourselves. Hubby gonna make "guo tieh" for his family to try and leaving all other dishes to me, so stressful, hopefully what I cook will still be up to standard to them.

I went online did a lot of research on simple & easy recipes, it not going to be a big feast as it will only be 5 person eating, finally my menu for Sunday is fixed.

Starter:
·      Guo Tieh

Main:
·      Steamed Silken Tofu with Shrimp and Egg
·      Stir-Fried Chicken with Shredded Ginger in Sesame Oil
·      Beer-Steamed Prawns

Soup:
·      Apple Pork Rib Soup

Dessert:
·      Chrysanthemum Osmanthus Tea Jelly

Done with printing of all my 武林密集 (recipes), shall go on groceries shopping with hubby tomorrow since I have plan on Saturday, so excited!!!

Business Trip to Jakarta

My last business trip to Jakarta before my school start again, guess I wont be going for any trip in the next 1 and a 1/2 year till I graduate!

Manage to catch sunset on the plane, that was gorgeous, went to a nice place for dinner after our first day of meeting,  it a fruitful trip this time round

Jakarta's Pullman Hotel

This recent business trip to Jakarta we stay in Pullman Hotel instead of intercon. The hotel was sooooooo nice, it a 5stars hotel, I got a free upgrade to a double room cos single smoking room was all taken. All other colleagues envy the big room of mine.

Should have ask hubby to tag along, this time round the hotel is not located at those wulu place, is the central district,  machiam like Orchard in Singapore. Open the curtain & I'm greeted by BIG LV logo everyday!!

Yiming's Birthday

Continous surprises for Yiming last Friday, I'm glad that we caught him off guard! All of us have a great laugh that night but good time pass fast
